PASSION FOR FOOD
I started Simpler Eats as a place where I could express my love of food. I have been baking and cooking for most of my life, and after attending the Health-Supportive Culinary Arts program at ICE, I have an education in plant-forward, health-focused, and real food preparations. I make simple and easy recipes that highlight and celebrate the ingredients they include. I find so much meaning in the food that I eat and create and I hope that I can help you all feel the same passion for food that I do.
LIFELONG CELIAC
I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2002 when I was only two years old. I grew up being extremely restrictive with my diet due to a lack of gluten-free options and my personal pickiness. Once I was old enough to bake and cook for myself, I learned that having Celiac made me very knowledgable and aware of what I was eating. I have always been food conscious and am continuing to grow/learn every day regarding what food I put into my body.
NATURAL AND DELICIOUS
My mantra around food is natural and delicious. I choose these two words because I love to focus on real foods that taste amazing without being heavily processed. I live an 80/20 lifestyle which means 80% of the time I try to stay healthy and responsible with my food choices, but I also allow in 20% of guilty pleasures or less conscious decisions. It is all about maintaining balance and finding what works best for you!
